Serving the future of Haiti

L'Espinasse School

In 2005 CINHP with the help of family, friends, and churches began a community development project by reopening a school that had been closed for 3 years in the area of L'Espinasse, Haiti located high in the mountains outside Port-au-Prince. Our school which opened in 2005 now includes Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st Grade and 2nd Grade. Currently there 75 students enrolled.

Here is the project progress that has been completed in 2009 thanks to the hard work and dedication of our partners, volunteers and people like you!
• 48 students in Pre-k through 1st grade finished the school year in June.
• In September, we added a 2nd grade and our student enrollment increased to 75 students.
• We have hired a highly qualified School Director who is a very strong believer and who has the vision and drive to bring our school up to the highest standards. Believe it or not, he was a child sponsored by Compassion International and is now using his talents to educate underprivileged rural children in our organization.
• We also hired a new certified Pre-School Administrator with 15 years prior experience who will bring excellence and higher quality education to our preschool students preparing them to excel in the higher grades.
• We made a substantial down-payment on the land on which we will build our new school campus, which will include a new school, community room, church and medical clinic.
